Overview

Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek is starting in Jiri was very popular before the Lukla Airfield was opened. This route was trekked by many expeditions to climb the mountains of Khumbu Himal with Mt. Everest at the head of the list. This is the classic Everest trek.The entire trek leads through the heartland of the Sherpa people who are the original inhalant of the highland.

The primary trail will start following the Dudh Kosi River and its tributary, the Imjakhola, passes through Namche Bazaar, the largest settlement, where you can take a day off to acclimatize, and Tengboche village with its great mountain views and famous ancient Buddhist Monastery. This trek gives to you the opportunities of summit in Chhukung-Ri, Kalapathar and Gokyo-Ri for the magnificent view of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Cho-Oyu, Makalu, Nuptse and AmaDamlam. Then a visit to Everest base camp will give you the chance to have a closer look at the spectacular Khumbu Icefall and Glacier.The traversing across the high Cho-La pass gives to you in the highest elevation.

The trek provides an insight into the many traditional aspects of the lives of the different ethnic groups of the area. Some of the ethnic group of this area is Tamang, Kami, Brahmins, Kshetri and Sherpa. When you enter Sagarmatha National Park which is an exceptional area, you can view dramatic mountains, glaciers and deep valleys; dominated by Mount Everest (8848m), the highest peak in the world. This is the habitat for several rare species, such as the snow leopard and the lesser panda. The presence of the Sherpa’s with their unique culture, adds further interest to the trekker who wants to learn the culture of the Sherpa.

After a memorable time in the high valleys and mountains, a smooth, sweeping flight brings you back to Kathmandu.

Detail Information

  • Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be welcomed by our office representatives at the Airport and transferred to your Hotel. After fresh up, hang around near places. In the evening, there will be briefing by your guide. Overnight at hotel. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  • Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing: The Swayambhunath- It is a stupa with many temple, shrines, Tibetan monasteries and statues of different gods. Kathmandu Durbar Square, the old Royal Palace of the Kathmandu Kingdom with spectacular architecture. Boudhanath Stupa - the largest Buddhist shrine of south Asia and Pashupatinath-a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located on the banks of Bagmati River. Overnight at hotel.   • Day 3: Kathmandu to Jiri (1955m) 149 km, 5-6 hours by drive. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  • Day 4: After breakfast, start trek to Deurali (2735m) 5-6 hours. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  • Day 5: After breakfast, trek to Sete (2645m) 4-5 hours. Meals: Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner
  • Day 6: After breakfast, trek to Junbensi (2640m) 5-6 hours. Meals: Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner
  • Day 7: After breakfast, trek to Nunthala (2440m) 5-6 hours. Meals: Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner
  • Day 8: After breakfast, trek to Kharikhola (2020m) 5-6 hours. Meals: Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner
  • Day 9: After breakfast, trek to Payun (2700m) 5-6 hours. Meals: Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner
  • Day 10: After breakfast, trek to Phakding (2640m) 5-6 hours. Meals: Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner
  • Day 11: After breakfast, trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m) 5-6 hours. Meals: Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner
  • Day 12: Acclimatization in Namche. Meals: Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner
  • Day 13: After Breakfast, trek to Tengboche (3850m) 5-6 hours. Meals: Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner
  • Day 14: After Breakfast, trek to Dingbuche (4350m) 5-6 hours. Meals: Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner
  • Day 15: Dingbuche to Lobuche (4930m) 5 ½ hrs (B.L.D)After Breakfast, trek to Lobuche (4930m) 5-6 hours. Meals: Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner
  • Day 16: Trek to Gorakshep (5160 m) - Visit Everest Base Camp (5350m) - back to Gorakshep. 4-5 hours. Meals: Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner
  • Day 17: Early morning walk up to Kala Patthar for the beautiful panoramic view. After enjoying a great view we will return back to Gorakshep and trek down approximately 5 hours to reach Lobuche (4940 m). Meals: Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner
  • Day 18: After Breakfast, trek to Zongla (4760m) 5-6 hours. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  • Day 19: After Breakfast, trek to Thagna (4500m) 5-6 hours. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  • Day 20: After Breakfast, trek to to Gokyo (4730m) 5 -6 hours. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  • Day 21: Early morning ascend to Gokyo peak and return to Gokyo (5430m) 5-6 hours. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  • Day 22: After Breakfast, trek to Luza (4350m) 5-6 hours. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  • Day 23: - After Breakfast, trek to Namche Bazaar (3440) 5-6 hours. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  • Day 24: After Breakfast, trek to Lukla (2860m) 6-7 hours. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  • Day 25: After breakfast, fly back to Kathmandu (30 minutes). Overnight: Hotel
  • Day 26: Kathmandu (Freeday) Meals: Breakfast
  • Day 27: Final departure. Meals: Breakfast
