Overview

Gokyo Ri also known as Gokyo peak (5,357 m) lies in west side of Ngozumpa glacier, which is the largest glacier in Nepal and reputed to be the largest in the whole Himalayas. Gokyo (4,750 m)at the base of Gokyo Ri, is a small hamlet of a few stone houses and one of the highest settlements in the world. Gokyo Ri Trek is a beautiful journey to the alluring Gokyo lakes.Gokyo Ri, one of the most amazing viewpoints for great views of Everest and other Himalayas. You also get to marvel at the massive Ngozumpa Glacier and the Gokyo valley from Gokyo Ri.

Gokyo Lakes and Gokyo Ri trek is for you who like to walk in the Everest region without the physical stress of reaching thebase camp of Everest. The trek starts with 35 minutes short mountain flight to Lukla then follows to Namche Bazzar through by crossing Dudhkoshi (milky) River valley. It follows the route via high pass of Cho La Pass at 5330meters into the Base Camp of Mount Everest. Along the way of this Trek you will be passing through grazing settlement of Yak to reach the Gokyo lakes and you will climb the Gokyo Ri peak for the Panoramic veiws. You will get an opportunity to observe the stunning scenery of Mt. Everest (8848 m), Makalu and Cho Oyo (8021m) and many more other surrounding peaks.

The Gokyo lake area is surrounded by mountainous valleys, alpine lakes, and numerous glaciers. It is less crowded than others in the Everest region.Gokyo Ri trek is the best way to create your lifetime adventure.

Detail Information

  • Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be welcomed by our office representatives at the Airport and transferred to your Hotel. After fresh up, hang around near places. In the evening, there will be briefing by your guide. Overnight at hotel. Meeals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  • Day 2: - Early in the morning you will drive to airport with your trekking guide and fly 30 minutes to Lukla 2860 m. You will meet your porter and head towards Phakding 2610 m. After 3-4 hours of walking you will reach Phakding. Meals: Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner
  • Day 3: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3446 m) 5-6 hours. Meals: Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner
  • Day 4: Acclimatization in Namche. Meals: Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner
  • Day 5: Trek to Dole (4190m) 5-6 hours. Meals: Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner
  • Day 6: Trek to Machhermo (4410m) 5-6 hours. Meals: Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner
  • Day 7: Trek to Gokyo Lake (4750m) 4-5 hours. Meals: Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner
  • Day 8: Hike to Gokyo RI (5360m) 2-3 hours. Meals: Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner
  • Day 9: Trek to Machhermo (4410m) 5-6 hours. Meals: Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner
  • Day 10: Trek to Dole (4190m) 6-7 hours. Meals: Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner
  • Day 11: Trek to Namche Bazaar 5-6 hours. Meals: Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner
  • Day 12: Trek to Lukla (2860 m) 6-7 hours. Meals: Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner
  • Day 13: After breakfast fly back to Kathmandu (30 minutes). Overnight: Hotel. Meals: Breakfast
  • Day 14: Final departure. Meals: Breakfast
